Egeria Explorer Demo · Last updated May 2025

This is a public demo environment. It uses fictional data from the open-source Coco Pharmaceuticals dataset. Do not enter real personal, medical, or commercially sensitive information.

What we collect

When you register for a demo account we collect:

Your name and email address (used solely for account management)
Your organisation name (optional)
A bcrypt-hashed password — we never store your plain-text password

During your session we log basic activity events (login, persona selection) to help us improve the demo experience.

How we use your data

To create and authenticate your demo account
To send you a one-time email verification link and, if you request it, a password-reset link
To understand how the demo is being used (aggregate usage only)

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties.

Data retention

Demo account data is retained for as long as the demo environment is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing the address below. The demo Egeria metadata store is periodically reset and is unrelated to your account data.

Cookies and sessions

We use a single HTTPOnly session cookie (demo_token) to maintain your login. This cookie is not used for tracking and expires when your session ends (or after 2 hours of inactivity for standard users).

Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Session tokens are signed JWTs with short expiry windows. Communication is over HTTPS. Despite these measures, please treat this as a demo environment — do not reuse passwords from other services.
